Marieke Pavlicic

After working for nearly 6 years as a nurse at the department of cardio-thoracic surgery at Maastricht UMC+, Marieke Pavlicic has been a research assistant at Maastricht UMC+ since February 2010

Since September 2010 Marieke has been working in the department of Biochemistry where she is involved in the ongoing clinical trials.

Her work includes supporting clinical scientific research into the prevention and treatment of venous thromboembolism, ensuring the follow-up of patients treated in the context of a study and informing these patients. Maintaining contact with the study monitor of industry-sponsored studies and taking care of the administration (often electronic) of these studies. Maintaining contact with the staff of the departments involved in the study and performing administrative tasks such as the METC (medical ethics review committee) approval procedures is also part of her duties.

She also performs blood tests on patients at the thrombosis service.
