LNVH - l'Oréal-UNESCO for women in science - Deadline May 8, 2017
Each year, the Dutch L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Fellowship Program awards two grants up to €25,000 to female scientists who received their doctoral degree (Vidi level) in the period up to three to ten years in the field of Life Sciences.
The Dutch L’Oréal-Unesco For Women in Science Fellowship are awarded with support of the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study and the Landelijk Netwerk Vrouwelijke hoogleraren (LNVH) in order to contribute to the increase of the number of female professors in the long run. These grants are intended for a residency of three to five months at the NIAS campus to work on writing scientific articles.
The application is open to female scientists within the period of 3 to 10 years after their PhD (Veni/ Vidi level, pregnancy leave and periods of part-time work for family reasons are deducted);
The applicants are invited to submit a proposal in the field of Life Sciences; we are referring to: proposals focusing on scientific and engineering knowledge that contribute to the understanding of the underlying processes in the existence of living organisms. This includes looking at intervention studies in healthy and diseased humans. This implies a comprehensive and integrated approach which also include gamma issues, which is in line with the basis of science.
Only applicants with a permanent or temporary position at a Dutch university or a research institute based in the Netherlands will be taken into account because the program aims to increase career prospects of female researchers and the number of female professors in the Netherlands. For 2017, the application can be submitted between March 8th, 2017 and May 8th, 2017. The grants awarded in 2017 will start on September 1st, 2018 or on February 1st, 2019 (academic year 2018/2019).
