NWO grant for project 'Laminomics'

Tim van de Wiel, Dr Magdalena Harakalova, and Dr Rogier Veltrop (Dept of Biochemistry) have been awarded an NWO grant for large-scale high-performance computing time. The grant supports their project 'Laminomics', providing 280,000 CPU hours over two years for complex omics analyses, along with additional cloud data storage for their research into cardiolaminopathy.

These studies will integrate advanced cellular models developed within the Department of Biochemistry, induced cardiovascular model systems generated at the Stem Cell Research facility Maastricht (SCRUM), and ex vivo cardiovascular tissue obtained during surgical procedures. In addition, the grant includes expanded cloud-based data storage capacity to support ongoing research into cardiolaminopathy and mechanobiochemistry.
