Within the Research Master Molecular Life Sciences, the Cardiovascular Biology and Medicine (CBM) specialization, offers research training in cardiovascular biology and diseases. The CBM program, organized by CARIM, focuses on three research areas: thrombosis and hemostasis, cardiac function and failure, and vascular biology.

Cardiovascular research internships

During the Master's program you will have the opportunity to select two internships, a junior and a senior internship.

The junior internship is at the end of the first year, and is coordinated by Johan Heemskerk (dept. of Biochemistry). In the first year a meeting is planned where possibilities of internships can be discussed. A list of possible internships will be provided via EleUM. The junior internship is too short to go abroad.

The second year of the CBM-master mainly consists of the senior internship. This internship encompasses 8 months. Before these 8 months, there is an 8-week educational program, in which you will learn to write and defend a research proposal. Adriaan Duijvestijn (dept. of Internal Medicine) coordinates this senior internship.
There are possibilities to go abroad during the senior internship. You'll need to organize this on time.
