Division Blood

Research in Division Blood (led by Prof. Judith Sluimer) is directed at deciphering impairments of proteins, platelets and the vessel wallwith molecular and imaging approaches and involves two programmes: ‘Blood coagulation, venous, thrombosis & bleeding’ and ‘Atherosclerosis, arterial thrombosis & stroke’. The programmes include the development of novel (molecular) imaging techniques and translation of these techniques to clinical practice for tailored patient treatment.

Research in Division Blood contributes to the circle of innovation in which basic research at CARIM incorporating the latest technological advances boosts translational research within the HVC, supporting high-level academic health care.
